It all started in 1994 ...

I.T.I. "A. Malignani" Institute was the first in Udine to realize an ISDN connection in 1994 and has been experimenting for many years the use of videoconference to add new tools to distance teaching and learning. We have directly verified the importance and the effectiveness of this technology in the numerous activities of exchange and cooperation with European and international institutions that we have realized in the last years. In particular, videoconference was used for the Petra project, the trilateral work of our students in cooperation with French and German ones. After a phase of common work in a very experimental Euro-class, they carried on their project at distance on ISDN video connection. |

That was the very beginning: in the following years we continued using this means for various activities, among which we remember the following ones:
- an examination for Advanced Level General Certificate of Education through videoconferencing with teachers of Exeter University (UK)
- a videoconference assembly of our teachers with I.T.I. "Vallauri" Fossano (CN)
- the videoconference of the signature of the Agreement of Cooperation with the Provost of State University of NewYork in Farmingdale
- the use of ISDN technology for training at distance with DG XXII EU (Dr. Lenarduzzi)
- learning at distance (Job&Orienta '98) (photo with the former President of Italy)
- the cooperation with M.P.I. for a conference at distance with "Accademia dei Lincei"
- teacher training, in particular the training of the teachers involved in the CLIC/CLIL project: |
- ISDN video lessons in real time for a student affected by long illness (no videos for privacy): our first experience of a "virtual classroom", where a homebound student managed to keep in touch with his own class and teachers
- the management and control at distance of an automation module with video feedback (Petra 2001).
- a videoconference and RAI radio audio streaming to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Big Earthquake in Friuli Venezia Giulia
- five videoconferences with CIRA, the Italian Aerospace Research Centre (via ISDN connection): the latest with a webconference (via satellite connection) at the same time
